Sam Calvert, an Associate at SierraConstellation Partners’ New York office, provides financial and operational advisory services to both underperforming companies and companies in transition.
Prior to joining SCP, Sam was an Associate at Stout, an international boutique financial advisory firm. In this role, he was responsible for driving engagements for solvency and fairness opinions as well as various tax and financial reporting valuation engagements. Sam’s primary focus was on advising financial sponsors as they considered balance sheet restructuring and sale processes for portfolio companies. During his time at Stout, he gained valuable experience working with companies in a wide array of industries that include financial services, technology, media, telecom, professional services and outsourced business services.
Sam earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and a B.S. in Accounting from the Leventhal School of Accounting. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of New York.
- Performed a tax structuring analysis for a U.S. based defense company exiting an out-of-court restructuring involving the valuation of numerous legal entities based globally which resulted in a reduction of over a billion dollars in debt.
- Provided a solvency opinion for a large cap, media company dividend recapitalization transaction, attesting to the debt capacity of the assets to service +$450 million in additional debt.
- Provided litigation support to a government regulator as they investigated a firm’s historical fair value disclosures of a wholly-owned subsidiary.
