Taylor Sherman


Taylor Sherman, Managing Director and Head of the Houston office at SierraConstellation Partners, brings with him nearly 20 years of management consulting and advisory experience, and provides clients with solutions to resolve complex and challenging issues. Taylor specializes in assisting clients with his detail-oriented and hands-on approach to turnaround services and restructuring work. He has extensive experience in the exploration-and-production, offshore-oil-field-services, chemicals, manufacturing, commercial real estate and retail industries with expertise in the areas of business plan development, cash management, contingency planning, valuation, and creditor negotiations.

Prior to joining SierraConstellation Partners, Taylor worked for other large consultancy firms in a similar capacity. Also, Taylor was an integral part of the successful turnaround of Heartland Industrial Partners portfolio companies TriMas and Springs Window Fashions, which included board participation, strategic business planning, public debt and equity offerings, M&As, and significant cost reductions as well as reorganizations that involved changes to senior management of both companies.

Taylor attended Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where he earned a degree in finance and international business. He is proficient in speaking Spanish due to his international business experience across Latin America.

Notable Assignments

  • Served as financial advisor for a Global Commercial Real Estate Company in the successful chapter 11 process including the development of a new business plan and financial projections used as the basis for the plan of reorganization as well as the detailed financial reporting, required for each of the over 100 debtors in these cases, filed publicly with the court and used as the basis in determining and settling claims with thousands of creditors.
  • Served as financial advisor for an Oil and Natural Gas E&P Company, with key responsibilities including cash and liquidity management, performance improvement and cost reductions as well as negotiating successfully covenant relief lenders and better terms with other creditors and venders, which helped our client raise additional capital and averted a chapter 11 filing in a very challenging operating environment in 2020.
  • Led restructuring and sale of the world’s largest resin-manufacturing plant, which was unfinished at the time of purchase; worked with management to develop a budget and work plan that would complete the construction and resolve all mechanic’s liens as well as contract and unsecured claims tied to the US bankruptcy process.
  • Reorganized an Offshore Oil Field Services Company, and restructured the company’s balance sheet through a Chapter 11 process; responsibilities included development of a new business plan, plan of reorganization, valuation analysis (which was contested, resolved quickly), cash management and drafting of all business overview materials and analyses included in court filings.
