Chas Schlaack, a Senior Director based in Los Angeles, has 15 years of experience working in private equity and transaction advisory, and as a senior executive at sponsored and founder-led companies. His experience includes business transformations, balance sheet restructurings and turnarounds, capital markets advisory, strategic planning, and financial modeling / FP&A. During his career, he has served companies in a variety of industries, including Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, Business Services, Healthcare, Media & Entertainment, and Specialty Distribution.

Prior to joining SCP, Mr. Schlaack was CFO for several leading food manufacturing brands (Tillamook Country Smoker, Century Snacks, Sweet Loren’s) where he led strategic and operational improvement initiatives to grow enterprise value and, most recently, was the CFO for a multi-site, vertically-integrated provider of ophthalmology services (Acuity Eye Group) where he led several business transformation efforts.

As part of Backbone Capital Advisors (acquired by Palm Tree Advisors), Mr. Schlaack executed debt and equity capital markets transactions, primarily supporting leveraged acquisitions by private equity sponsors and corporate refinancings. Chas started his career at Transom Capital Group, a private equity group focused on operationally complex transactions.

Chas received an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and earned a BA in Political Science from Northwestern University. He holds Series 79 and 63 FINRA securities licenses.
